Hi,

Firstly, I bought Vegas when it first came out and have never had any problems with it. Until I downloaded the Halloween lights etc. (I have updated with the patch). The first time I used them then tried to delete one of the Halloween lights the game crashed out to desktop. It did this a few more times so I decided not to use them anymore. This worked fine until a couple of days ago. Now after about a minute into the game it crashes out to the desktop!!

I have a P4 1.4 Mhz, GeForce 4 MMX 420, 512 Ram, sound card with all the relevant latest drivers.

Any ideas? (Might just try a re-intstall)

Hi marko, it sounds like you haven't installed the 1.11 patch (you may of downloaded 1.10).

1.11 fixes the problem you describe.

When you run 1.11, you'll be prompted to reapply the patch, just say yes and it should be sorted.

regards

Incidentally when you say when you don't use the halloween templates the game just crashes is it always the same level, same sort of time into the game? Is there anything you are specifically doing at the point that this happens?

regards

Hiyah Ropes,

Thanks for the reply, I was sure I downloaded the new patch but you are probably right. I will download 1.11 amd then let you know how it helps The game tends to crash whatever I am doing. I have tried starting a new sandbox level and the same thing happens. I dont even have to be doing anything, just watching the game run.

Anyway, thans for the advice.....Time to downlaod again

Hiyah Ropes,

I had installed the 1.11 patch. The game still crashes out but I did some experimentation. The game was okay if I ran a NEW sandbox level without using the Halloween objects. So I did a complete re-install complete with the new patch and everything is going well. I can only think the first time I used the halloween objects and it crashsed that somehow that particular sandbox scenario was corrupted and the halloween objects became corrupted. The game did run without using any halloween objects on the new sandbox levels. It kept crashing on the original scenario I tried them out on and any level I tried to use the halloween objects on. But after the re-install everything seems fine.. (It should be pointed out I haven't tried to use the halloween objects again or even installed them. I don't see the point now anyway with hallowwen been and gone) The main thing is the game is now running fine.

Regards

Mark

Hi Beavious,

Have you downloaded the latest patch for the game. Also make sure you have the latest directx drivers and the latest video drivers for your video card. Also what vdeo card do you own, I have heard a lot of people had problems with game if they were using an ATI RADEON card. Look through the forums for any threads containing a similar problem to yours. You will probably find a solution there if none of the above helps. Good Luck!!

Yep, i have downloaded the latest nVidia driver update and i have the new patch. Could it be that the saved file is corrupt? I have an AMD Athlon XP with NVidia graphics. It dosen't matter about that specific saved game that crashes but i am worried it happens again.

If you load the saved game and don't do anything i.e. don't zoom - does it crash?

Which Nvidia card do you have?
