It would be nice if we could both:

Select structures inside and outside the casino and change their name (i.e. "Bar #2" could be renamed to make it something more personal)

Select a section of the floor and rename it-- so you could select the area of say, your card room, and give it a funky name like the "Outlaw Saloon" or whatever..

This would add a great deal to the player's sense of having built their OWN unique casino!

On a side note, there is another casino tycoon type game on the market that has a nice feature:  some sort of database file with a bunch of first and last names--male and female patrons are named randomly from this file, giving each person an identity!

Also, it might be nice to be able to comp individual patrons.

Great Idea's there ... however it would take a big effort i would amagine to make 5000 people in the game have individual profiles, names and personalitys >>>>>>>> i do like your idea about being able to rename structures and maybe even gaming tables ect.

No profiles--that would be an immense amount of work, and soon you'd see the same people over and over. Just names!

When a pedestrian/gambler is spawned, he is given certain attributes-- appearance, highroller/tourist/hardcore gambler etc.

Why not random names as well, taken from a list (or several lists, one for each model?)

I.e., when spawning a male biker, why not have a list of specifically male first names the computer chooses from, and a list of unisex last names?

This would add alot of character to the game...

If you are competent at editing scripts and writing code then it is possible to add names to each character that is spawned, it would also be possible to change the tooltips and names to reflect this.

I would do it but our hands are unfortunately tied right now.

regards

Agreed! This is the #1 thing that hit me when first trying the game yesterday. I can't believe this whole creative department is taken from me, like my grand new Vegas Hotel is called Hotel #3 or something? :)

Part of the fun for me was designing my own Vegas resort approach (after I have been to Vegas some days ago, very inspiring), with some kind of concept, and I can forget that creative part when every structure has these sober technical names.

Was the first thing in e.g. Zoo Tycoon when setting up ANYTHING, its own name. That's the number #1 thing for me to give life to a game. :)

Same with persons. No need for random names. But your own names for a certain employee (that lazy mechanic), I think that's a must have for a creative strategy game. :)
