I found that raising the floor provides a barrier against noise and smell inside the casino. The higher the floor the greater the protection.
Hence I lower the floor in an area and buid restrooms and maintenance builings etc, provide a path and raise a one square thick wall as tall as needed. The best thing is I can place lamps, statues and plants and the effects of these are there on both sides of the wall.
Try this out. It can also help the layout and appearance of the casino!
I only wish the outside walls also provide a barrier to noise and smell. Are the developers listening?

Perhaps the ability to build "interior walls" would better suit the game - this would reduce noise somewhat and greatly reduce smell (though not entirely). However, I'm not sure how this would affect the code for pathing used by the program (it would have to take walls into account when deciding a path from one place to the next). This would give a more "real life" appearance, and allow a certain level of segregation between the service areas of the casino and the gaming floor proper - at the expense of room and money.

Hi battery, not sure what you mean by
"Perhaps the ability to build "interior walls" would better suit the game "
You can take a segment of the floor and raise it to the ceiling to create a full wall if thats what you require?
As for adding wall segments like the exterior walls in the downloads then it would the behaviour would be the same. It wouldn't cause a problem for pathing.
regards

I should have prefaced my remarks by including I think that raising/lowering the floors ought to have a charge associated with such activity. The interior wall concept would then allow a cheaper, if less effective, form of smell/noise reduction. In addition, as the interior wall would be thinner, I suppose it adds to the look of the game.

I do see your point, but do not see a need for another item such as an interior wall.
I know that raising/ lowering floor is free, and some may even consider it cheating to eliminate smell and noise but raising a 1-square thick floor and calling it a wall.
But that's neither here nor there. You are giving up some flexibility and space when you build a "wall" as I've suggested. But, you can build a very attractive casino by creatively raising or lowering the floor, including building a wall.
I think the wall you suggest will be we very handy both from a design as well as appearance perspective for the outside.

Yeah, I seen offspring build walls to separate bits off, and it looked good as well as taking out smells and stuff.
