One of the things I have found very irritating with the game is that the cash attendants are horrible.  I have to click on the repair button all the time, so I have to keep worrying about this aspect instead of doing other things.  This is a function that should really be automatic, as it has been in all the other casino tycoon type games.  Please think about making this automatic.

Hi doug, they are actually automatic, do they have access to the objects which are breaking down? Remember that the cash assistants only repair certain objects such as slot machines and the mechanics do tables! You can tell who needs to repair what from the tooltip over the repair icon.

regards

Are you using one of the prebuilt casinos supplied?

We may need to review the feedback on them for a future update, if they get stuck its not that obvious.

You can see how it works by simply going into sandbox, put an empty casino down, put one cashiers assistant and one slot machine, and just watch over time, you shouldnt ever have to hit the repair button.

regards

The problem with the automatic repairs, is that it is currently in effect only when the machine in question hits 0 health. Which causes downtime

If this value would be raised to ~10-20% of health, or even better, a slider that would set this value to user's preference, it would make the profit more stable

Do the cash assistants have a range like the security guards?  If so that may be my problem because I always stick the cash booth in the corner and the slots are usually in a different part of the casino.

The only problem with placing the Cashier's Desk a long way from the Slots is that it takes time for the Cashier's Assistant to reach the broken machine. Keep them close and repair times will be quicker.

Also, check the stats of the staff you have hired. If they are too slow, fire them and hire better, faster staff. For the Cashier's Assistant you will want ones with high Speed stats (how quickly they move aorund), High Skill (how quickly they empty out the machine), High Attention (how quickly they notice the problem), but you shouldn't worry too much about Charisma as the Assistants don't have any direct contact with the public.

With good staff you will find that you don't need as many to get on top of the problem!

Yes, I agree.  This should be adjustable.  Actually, it should be 90%, if you think about it.  Your attendant would fix a machine at 90%, then move on to the next, then the next, etc.  Obviously some would drop below 90%, but they'd be operating at the best possible capacity all of the time.  Once you start to see ones that actually break, then it's time to hire a new attendant.  This is how it works in the game Casino Empire.  This is easily the biggest flaw in Vegas Tycoon, IMO.
