For a bit of fun you can actually unlock more than
the 5000 limit of people for both scenarios
and sandbox.

However this change is not endorsed by DeepRed or Empire. If you do make the following changes, please don't bother Empire support or Deep Red about issues as a result of this.

First you need a fairly heavyweight PC and ideally more than 256Mb of RAM

Secondly be prepared for your older saved games not to work if you change this figure.

Ok now goto where the game is installed and open up the following file

GAMEDATA\Scripts\GENERAL\Sandbox.lua

At the top there is a variable called

SANDBOX_PEOPLEMAX = 5000

Make sure you read the comments above this line in the file. This number can be anything from 1-20000

Save the file and start the game again, the people slider in sandbox will now allow upto this new limit of people.

Have fun.

regards

Hence the

"First you need a fairly heavyweight PC and ideally more than 256Mb of RAM"

They are merely suggestions if people feel adventurous..

To display this many guests you need a fast CPU and a high-end graphics card aswell. Remember the limit is 5000. I only allowed this number to be edited for people who just want to have fun and try things out, like a silly number of guests :). Try 10000 if 20000 is too much.
It's not for everyone because like you say their PC may not be able to handle it

I tried this last night and put it up to 10000, people were swarming everywhere and I made loads of money, it did slow my computer down quite a bit though even though I have a 2gig processor, 512ram, 64 meg graphics card.  But it was fun to play for a while
